integrative massage

I started my journey with the healing arts in the study of plants and herbs at the Rocky Mountain Center for Botanical Studies in 1997.  After practicing as an Herbalist and continuing my studies with a Clinical path I found that I was referring many of my clients for massage or a hands on modality in addressing the body.

In 1999, I explored an Acupressure Intensive at the Acupressure Institute and fell in love with the meridians of Chinese medicine and hands on healing.  I subsequently received Maya Abdominal Massage which introduced me to the beautiful contribution of herbalism with a hands on modality.

To become an Arvigo® practitioner of abdominal therapy required a practitioner license to practice, which led me to Healing Spirits Massage training Program in Boulder, CO in 2000-2001 which helped me focus on my quality of touch and energetic qualities of hands on healing work.  I received an amazing training here which continues to inform my work.  Some of the modalities studied were Shiatsu with Jeffery Dahn, Phenomenal Touch with Leslie Bruder, Pre Natal, and Post Partum, Swedish, Watsu, Sports Massage, Reiki, Trager, and Polarity.

I currently describe my work as eclectic or integrative.  I am a deep intuitive listener of bodies and strive to meet each body with what is required in the present session at hand.  I absolutely love bodywork and the bodies that show up to receive. I have been very blessed to have worked on so many for the last 22 years.  With 10 years of experience working at the Health Center of Integrative Therapies, a department that was part of Longmont United Hospital, I was able to work in many settings and use many modalities.  As part of an integrative health team, I learned about the power of touch as an integral part of the healing path.

Recently I have added Access Consciousness to the mix with Bars as well as Body Processes.  This is amazing dynamic energy work that can help the body, spirit, mind step into more freedom. I also specialize in somatic release and shamanic practices that help people come into alignment with their soul journey.  Being a plant based healer, I incorporate plant spirit medicine and aromatherapy with the use of essential oils.  Crystals, gems, and sound healing may also be used in sessions if called for.

I see clients in my Lafayette office and have many session lengths to choose from as well as packages.  I look forward to our time together.

  • I am not a neuromuscular specialist or a rolfer. These modalities are great for specific treatment or changing posture. I can refer you to others that are great in these modalities.

  • Usually less tension, more relaxed.

You may also feel tired and sore if you have not received in awhile. Your healing is always my goal, so exploration of core cause of discomfort is usually addressed.
